Oregon Cider Week 2018: June 21-July 1. These are my Oregon Cider Week events, itself a 10-day-long celebration of that most fantastic drink, of which the International Epicenter is our very state, Oregon. ALL EVENTS AT MY PUBLIC TAPROOM, 1813 NE 2ND AVE., UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. All events 21+ except the Midsummer Night Market, open to minors 4-10pm only.

Thursday, June 21

-Cider Appreciation Class, 7:00-10pm: Drink 20+ ciders from around the world with me while discussing history, styles and cideries. The ciders we will drink include traditional English Westcountry, French style from Normandy, Spanish Basque and Asturian, and the emerging American style. Nearly everything we drink will be apple-only; there is just that much variety! This is $50 per person and “class” size is limited to 25. Friday, June 22

-The Best Ciders Made in America that you Can’t Get in Oregon, 4-11pm: I’ve spent the last year traveling our country, finding the greatest ciders made, and smuggling them into Oregon to share with you, my cider-loving friends. Enjoy libations from: Albemarle CiderWorks, B. Nektar, Bantam Cider, Black Diamond Cider, Castle Hill Cider, Colorado Cider Company, Hawk Knob Cidery and Meadery, Montana CiderWorks, Prima Cider, Sociable Cider Werks, Tilted Shed Ciderworks, Western Cider, Headwater Cider, and more, none of which you can otherwise buy in Oregon. $15 for a flight of six. -Rev Nat’s 6th Birthday Party, 12pm-11pm: Celebrate 6 years of making the most unusual ciders that no one else will make. I’m hauling out rare kegs from my basement and renting a barbecue. Join me for free cider-sausages from World Foods Portland and birthday cake! Since 6 years is the CANDY ANNIVERSARY, there’ll be a Sour Patch Kids slushee and an exotic candy-filled PIÑATA. -SIDRA SIDRA SIDRA, 4-10pm: Spanish-made and Spanish-influenced sidras are sour, frequently wild-fermented, and always bringin’ the funk. Ciders featured include Riestra, Fanjul, Angelon, Avalon, and me! -Rev Nat’s Cocktail Party, 4-11pm: I’ve rounded up my local cidermaker friends to bring you a collaborative evening of cider cocktails. -Midsummer Night Market, 4-10pm: My Midsummer Night Market showcases the many artist and and craftspeople friends I have in our great city, all against a backdrop of delicious cider. Browse pop art from Ace Troy while sipping on a Hopricot. Or choose your next nail color from Claws Out while drinking a Deliverance. Or put down your Viva La Pineapple to peruse a tasting journal from 33 Books. Minors OK (4-10pm only)!  25 vendors! Jewelry, food & drinks, t-shirts, letterpress, journals, pop art, statuary, bath products, clothes, ceramics, soaps, paperworks, housewares.
