These are my Oregon Cider Week events, itself a 10-day-long celebration of that most fantastic drink, of which the International Epicenter is our very state, Oregon. ALL EVENTS AT MY PUBLIC TAPROOM, 1813 NE 2ND AVE., UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
Wednesday, June 14
-Cider Appreciation Class, 7:30-10pm: Drink 20+ ciders from around the world with me while discussing history, styles and cideries. The ciders we will drink include traditional English Westcountry, French style from Normandy, Spanish Basque and Asturian, and the emerging American style. Nearly everything we drink will be apple-only; there is just that much variety! This event is held in the taproom during regular open hours, is $45 per person and “class” size is limited to 20. -OMSI Science Pub, Empirical Theater, 1945 SE Water Ave., 7-9pm: At my favorite science museum I’ll talk about cider in “Apples to Hellfire: A Whirlwind Tour of Hard Cider from the Basics to Secret Recipes.” Dinner available at the OMSI restaurant, Theory. -Revival Night, 4-10pm: My flagship, my life’s work, the cider I most love to love, shows its versatility via six unique versions including hops, fruit and who-knows-what.
-OMSI After Dark Ciderfest, OMSI, 1945 SE Water Ave., 7-11pm: Drink up as we toast the history, tradition and science that goes into crafting cider. Advance tickets available here.

Thursday, June 22
-True Portland Book Launch Party, 6-10pm: “The Unofficial Guide for Creative People” – join author Teruo Kurosaki and my local friends making Japanese food, drink & wares. D.J. Jimbo will be spinning all sorts of good tunes, and, of course, the Hawthorne Books folks will be there with a Mt. Fuji-sized mountain of books for sale.
-As part of the True Portland Book Launch party, enjoy a special tapping of my Beers Made By Walking keg in partnership with Forest Park Conservancy and my rarity, Magnificent 7.
