12th ANNIVERSARY NIGHT MARKET

Over the last few months, I’ve been working on cultivating a space that I feel best represents Reverend Nat’s and what I want to bring to my customers. Back in the Before Times, I had a Taproom off of NE 2nd and Broadway. Over the lifespan of that space, I was able to bring together community, host some of my favorite events, and offer you every cider I concocted – including many special ciders that never made it anywhere except my Taproom. Then 2020 happened, and it felt necessary and right to close up shop for the time being.

Three years later, in March of 2023, I was ready to bring that experience back in a new location ripe with opportunity and a lot of great neighbors. Since our soft-opening at the end of March, I’ve been working to improve the Taproom and bring back the welcoming, authentic vibe that I was able to offer in the past. With the additional bonus of being attached to the Farmhouse Carts, you have all been wonderful in embracing my Taproom as we have worked (and continue to work) on fully moving in and getting our production up and running. While completion of this monumental move is TBD, I am proud of the Taproom we’ve built so far, and I’m ready to share it with all of you.

On Saturday, July 22nd from 4pm-10pm, I hope you’ll join me for the Grand Opening of the new Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider Taproom as we celebrate our 12th Anniversary with a Night Market! We’ll have the street blocked off to accommodate over twenty local makers, ten food carts, twelve ciders on tap, and a little something for everyone. Minors are welcome at all times and dogs are welcome outside only.
If you made it this far, I’ll let you in on a secret: A very special cider will be making a rare reappearance for my 12th anniversary. I make this just like another limited run cider, but with 4x the passionfruit, 2x the coconut, and 1 vanilla bean… Can you guess what it is?

Apple Market 2019

Once again it is time for my Apple Market. Blemished apples for cooking and saucing, pasteurized juice for drinking and fermenting, plus hot juice for the kiddos and seasonal cider for the grown-ups. Watch apples being pressed! Buy some homebrew supplies! The Market will be held over two days for maximum convenience.

Night of 1000 Tepaches 2019

Join me on May 4 2019 from 3 until 11 pm for my fifth annual Night of 1000 Tepaches! (What is tepache? Read below.)

(Facebook user? Event is here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2269453753334228/)

I’ve partnered with 19 craft producers throughout Oregon and Washington to collaborate on Tepache blends to create an incredibly diverse set of flavors. Expect Belgian sours blended with Tepache, crisp pilsners blended with Tepache and dark stouts blended with Tepache.

Check out this excellent list of local breweries!

  • GREAT NOTION
  • RUSE
  • ARCH ROCK
  • LEVEL
  • HOPWORKS
  • OLD TOWN
  • WIDMER BROTHERS
  • EX NOVO
  • ROSENSTADT
  • GRAINS OF WRATH
  • VON EBERT
  • LITTLE BEAST
  • UPRIGHT
  • ENSO WINERY

Now for the first time, I’ve expanded beyond Oregon to include two of my favorite breweries in Washington:

  • MATCHLESS
  • THREE MAGNETS

And while I’m doing firsts, why not collaborate with some non-alcohol beverage producers to create some very low alcohol blends?

  • HAPPY MOUNTAIN KOMBUCHA
  • GROUNDWORKS COFFEE
  • PORTLAND SODA WORKS

But enjoying Tepache blends isn’t the only activity on tap for the evening:

  • I’ve hired in my favorite Korean-Mexican food truck, KOI FUSION, to provide nourishment to everyone.
  • My friend DJ JIMBO will be spinning records from 6 to 9 PM.

BOTTLE SHARE

And back by popular demand is my Beer-and-Tepache Blending Bottle Share starting at 8 PM. Entry to the Bottle Share requires one bottle of beer, cider, wine or what-have-you (no liquor please) that you believe will be a great combination with Tepache. I’ll provide all the Tepache, you bring the mixers! In years past, we’ve had such crazy beers as Westvleteren, 3 Floyds Dark Lord, Russian River sours, Heady Topper and more.

I could not be more excited about another party to celebrate Tepache, the Mexican wild-fermented pineapple drink that I first made in 2014. In the intervening five years, the rest of the world hasn’t quite caught on as much as they should, considering the deliciousness and versatility of this unusual beverage. Please join me!

Tickets are available at the door. $25 gets you a commemorative tasting glass and 10 tokens. Additional tasting tokens are available for purchase.

Doors open at 3 pm and please note that my Taproom will NOT be open prior to 3 pm on this very special day.

Oh! and please use hashtag #1000Tepaches on social media for this event!

Reverend Nat’s is a Marketing Company

At CiderCon 2018 in Baltimore, I presented on branding, communications, company vision and marketing, largely based on the book ZAG by Marty Neumeier.

You can download the Keynote presentation here and a PDF export of the presentation here. The Keynote copy has transitions and other media which makes it “better”, so download that one if you’re on a Mac.

The books I referenced during the talk are here: http://a.co/f72l1H7

The handout that was made available at the presentation is here.
